...the 550 cast-off parts return to Asia. Lucky bidder Goltong from South Korea won the auction. Funny how an L.A. CL ad giving this stuff away for free got nothing, but ebay got me $175 in SW Asia!

lincoln update

So the boss let me put the car at work for a month, until it runs or gets towed-out. Upon closer inspection, I am stoked: aside from a little wiring redo, the car is totally original from front to back, carb is clean and the engine compartment matches *exactly* the 1958 brochure photo! No bodywork is evident anywhere on the car, and all the chrome is there and looking good. Pic is of the 2010 S1000RR; thought it was a nice contrast with the 52 year-old Conti., both having spikey tailfins. I woke-up just now dreaming of how to fix the ignition switch behind the dashboard.

the interior of this thing is officially the nicest of any car we own, even nicer/cleaner than the 2006 Forester XT! the flatbed drops it off today at work. more photos then. Just 2 more weeks til payday!

I bought this car yesterday by accident. Amazing what the words "pre-aproved" can make you do. Gonna go see it today. Stay tuned. Shannon had the best comeback ever, but I'll fill you in later on that one.

Chino Air Show sitrep

Took the kids to their 1st airshow. It was a good one; met my parents there, had a fantastic time. I cried, as usual. Shannon said it was an early father's day present. Accepted.

Their flying f-86; if you don't think this airplane is amazing, you are beyond help. My favorite airplane since I was little.
Chumby climbed right past the C-47's pilot and took a seat while I fumbled with the camera.


P-51, 2 Lightnings, and an F-16. How stoked is that F-16 pilot to be surrounded by the history of his job? I'd say pretty stoked, lucky bastard. Also amazing were the Horsemen, doing loops and crazy dives in their 65 year-old Mustangs in blue-angels-esque formation, the wing-walker and all the WW2 reinactors (the Nazis has a Zundapp sidecar rig, spoke German -creepy- and had a real MP-40!), while the Russians had a hot girl soldier and lots of Mosin-Nagants!

Buster had a real-good day.
