So the boss let me put the car at work for a month, until it runs or gets towed-out. Upon closer inspection, I am stoked: aside from a little wiring redo, the car is totally original from front to back, carb is clean and the engine compartment matches *exactly* the 1958 brochure photo! No bodywork is evident anywhere on the car, and all the chrome is there and looking good. Pic is of the 2010 S1000RR; thought it was a nice contrast with the 52 year-old Conti., both having spikey tailfins. I woke-up just now dreaming of how to fix the ignition switch behind the dashboard.
